*NEW* Etix Scanner App

The Etix Scanner iOS Validation App allows you to use an iPhone to scan and validate tickets for a Performance.

Compatibility: Require iOS 8.1 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.

Enable "Guided Access" in iPhone settings. Guided Access keeps the iPhone in a single app, which will avoid misuse.

On the iPhone, click Settings

Click General

Click Accessibility

Click Guided Access

A. Toggle to On under Guided Access
B. Click Passcode Settings

Set Passcode

Launch the app and enable Guided Access by clicking the Home button three times.  Click the home button three more times and enter the passcode to disable Guided Access.

Login to the app using your Etix username and password.

The Scanner Screen appears after logging in. Also displayed is the:
A. Menu
B. Scan Direction
C. Flash (if available): if the capture mode is 'back camera,' you have the option to turn the flash on or off.
D. Manual Validation Entry: Allows you to manually enter a ticket's serial number.
E. Validation Area
F. Validation History: Displays the most recently scanned ticket

Once you are in the scanner screen, tapping the Menu Button will open a panel on the left side with a Navigation Menu.

From the Navigation Menu, you can select:
A. Scanner: Select to continue scanning tickets
B. Connection Diagnosis
C. App Settings
D. Log Out

The Scanner Screen allows you to see scan tickets.  Once you scan a ticket, a waiting overlay and confirmation overlay will appear.
A. Waiting Overlay
B. Valid Scan
C. Invalid Scan - If Invalid, will display reason

The Scanner Screen will always show the most recent scan at the bottom of the screen. If you tap it, all scans performed by this device will be displayed in full screen. If you tap any of these scans,
 or press and hold with one finger, it will display the scan information specific to that individual ticket.

The icon at the left of the scan indicates the status of the scan.
A. Valid: Online validation was performed and the ticket was redeemed
B. Invalid: Online validation was attempted and the ticket was deemed invalid
C. Buffered: Ticket was scanned and the information was stored because the app lost internet connection

To view details on invalid scans, click the information icon to the right of the invalid scan, and a description will appear.

To enter a manual ticket validation, click the plus sign in the top right corner of the scanning screen, and a keyboard will appear. Then enter in the 10-Digit Serial Number on the ticket and click Validate.

The Connection Screen allows you to test connectivity to Wi-Fi, Internet, Etix Servers and Validation Services.   Click Test to start this process.


The Settings Screen is composed of three sections:
A. General Settings
  1. Username
  2. In/Out Mode
  3. Scan Mode: The app is compatible with the LineaPro Scanner Jacket as well as the phone's back camera.
​B. Sync: Click Force Sync to manually upload stored scans
C. Release: Current App Version
D. Click for App Menu

E. Log Out
