Motorola Validation

This article reviews the steps required to validate tickets at an event using the Motorola MC55NO Scanner.

 

How to Open the Validation Program
 

1. Click the Windows icon in the bottom left corner.



2. Click Etix Validation



3. The validation program will open and you will be able to begin scanning. Before you begin scanning, make sure the cursor is blinking in the box under “Input Serial Number”.



4. To scan a ticket press the yellow button on the front of the scanner, the yellow button on the left side of the scanner or the yellow button on the right side of the scanner.

5. If the ticket doesn’t scan you can manually type in the serial number and click “Submit Serial”.  



6. If you need to exit the program click the Exit button across the bottom of the validation program.



7. Enter the password 54321 and click Confirm Exit



 

 

Validation Messages
 
Valid Entrance is a good ticket. 



 
Valid Store means you are not connected to the Internet. Exit the Validation program, and then through your network connections, connect to the Internet.


 
Already Validated means that the ticket has already been scanned. If you scroll down past the Additional Information on the scanner screen, you'll be able to see the time that the customer entered for the first time and all subsequent attempts. The user will need to click CLOSE to return to the previous screen and continue scanning tickets.




​Invalid means that the ticket does not have a valid barcode. The user will need to click CLOSE to return to the previous screen and continue scanning tickets.  This message will also display if the scanner username and password are incorrect.  Click here for instructions on how to check the username and password.
 
Invalid -- Voided means that the ticket has been voided. The user will need to click CLOSE to return to the previous screen and continue scanning tickets.


 
Not Currently Valid. Not Valid at Time or Place means that either a) the username and password on the scanner aren't allowed to scan this ticket or b) the ticket is not valid on the date and time that it is being scanned (i.e. it's for a past or future performance that is not being scanned at that time). 
The user will need to click CLOSE to return to the previous screen and continue scanning tickets.


 
Server Error means that the Validation URL needs to be updated.  Click here for instructions on how to check the Validation URL.
The user will need to click CLOSE to return to the previous screen and continue scanning tickets.
