There are a few different ways to setup a Groupon offer within the Etix system. The below will cover different scenarios to help determine the best option for your organization.
General Admission Performance: Send Etix Serial Numbers to Groupon
A. Utilize the Pull Feature to generate barcodes.
Note: We recommend only pulling 100 tickets at a time.
B. Run the Export Customer Data Report. Only select Pull under the Action Filter and check to include Ticket Data. The report will display the serial numbers to send to Groupon.
C. Groupon will need to print a 128b barcode on the Groupon tickets.
Reserved Performance: Utilize Membership Platform to Create Passcodes
A. Create Membership. Be sure to update the membership type to Groupon.
B. Create Membership Levels. Each level should designate the number of tickets a purchaser is receiving. For example, level 1 receives 1 ticket, level 2 receives 2 tickets, etc.
C. Load Passcodes into each level. These Passcodes will be sent to Groupon to distribute to purchasers. Passcodes control the ticket limits for each Membership Level. Etix recommends using a random number generator or Excel to generate passcodes. Make sure to check for duplicates before loading.
D. Create a Campaign with a Groupon price code for the Performance that is utilizing the Groupon option.
E. Set up assigned inventory to control sections or seats that the Groupon price code pulls from if needed.
F. Create Ticket Limits to connect the Performance utilizing Groupon to the Membership Levels. A Ticket Limit is what ties the Passcode to the ticket benefit on the restricted price code within the performance.
G. Send Passcodes and Campaign Link to Groupon. Customers will redeem their Groupon through the Campaign Link using a Passcode.
Box Office Redemption
A. Customers redeem their Groupon purchase through the Box Office only.
B. Add a Groupon Price Code to the Performance and schedule in the Box Office Sales Channel only for $0.00.
C. Set up assigned inventory to control sections or seats that the Groupon price code pulls from if needed.
D. If the Performance is General Admission, pull and print tickets. This will allow you to distribute tickets from a stack of pulls as customers redeem their Groupon.
E. If the Performance is Reserved, sell the Groupon Price Code as customers come to redeem their Groupon.
